How to Assemble a Ferret Kingdom Cage
Tools you will need: spanner/wrench (can someone correct me?), rubber mallet, a lot of patience
STEPS FOR STAND
1. Attach the longest, tallest part of the stand to the two small sides with the bolts.
2. Attach the last long part of the stand to the two side panels.
3. Place wire panel (the one with the 'loop' hooks along the longer sides) over the bottom horizontal bars. (I had to use the mallet to put it on properly)
4. Add the castors to the bottom of the stand. They push in easily.
STEPS FOR CAGE
1. Find the back panel (will have two extra holes on the top right side). Arrange it so the side with the holes faces inwards.
2. Find a side panel which has two 'slots' for the wire rather than three. Place this against the back panel on the right side, with the side with the two slots facing inwards and have the end with the two slots level with the two extra holes on the back panel (I hope this makes sense. It does if you look at it! Haha) and bolt in place. Take note of the way the slots for the wire are facing; they my all face the same way or you'll have to start again (it should have the flat part of the slot on top and the bent part at the bottom)
3. Find a standard side panel and bolt it parallel on the other side so you have a 'U' shape.
4. Slide the wire in on the top and bottom of the panels. It should slide in easily. Make sure the wire sheet that goes on the top part is the one with the corner cut out. Place it so the cut corner aligns with the two extra holes so you have a hole in the back right corner.
5. Place a door panel on the front and bolt on.
6. Place the bottom half on the stand, it gets real heave real fast after this.
7. Assemble the top half separately (it's easier to slide it on top later than assemble it on the other half). Find a back panel and two side panels and bolt them together.
8. Slide in the top wire panel.
9. Bolt on the last door panel.
10. Place top half onto the bottom half, the 'pegs' on the bottom of the top half should slide into the holes on the top of the bottom half. Use the mallet to 'encourage' it to fit in ;D
11. Place the two small shelves where ever you want in the cage (I prefer one in the top half, the hooks on the left wall panel and one in the bottom half on the right so the ladder that connects the two halves has somewhere to go).
12. Put the ladders in (two standard ones that are hooked at both ends) where ever you like, and the longer ladder into the two holes in the right corner of the middle shelf.
13. Decorate your awesome new cage however you want!
14. ADD RATS!
